Scrapbooking Christmas Memories
by Deborah Smith
Even people who rarely pick up their camera during the year, take
pictures at Christmas. We all want to capture the warm memories of
family and friends that Christmas brings.
Too often though, we forget to take pictures of the very things that
our memories are made of – getting the Christmas tree, baking,
decking the halls, or the tree lit up at night after Santa has
filled it with presents!
Don’t forget meaningful memorabilia like your annual Christmas
letter or Christmas card, Christmas pageant programs and letters to
or from Santa.
Keep your pages simple and fast to create by selecting a theme and
carrying it through all your pages. For instance pick a solid or
subtle background in red, green or black and use it on all your
Christmas Scrapbook pages. Pick another color to mat all your
photos. Use the same color pen to journal your Christmas memories.
You can add some uniqueness to each page with stickers, die-cuts or
other embellishments.
Christmas activities that are a part of your family traditions,
perhaps going back several generations are priceless. Be sure to
take pictures of all your traditions and capture them in a family
album for future generations to share.

Keep Scrapbooking Simple
by Deborah Smith
With the explosion of scrapbook supplies available on the market
today, the thought of creating a scrapbook scares many into tucking
those photos right back in the box and shoving them in the closet.
If don't consider yourself the "artsy crafty" type, or you plain
don't have time to spend hours on scrapbooks, don't despair. The key
to creating a fast but fabulous scrapbook is to keep it simple.
Forget about all the embellishments for a moment and focus on your
photos. They are what bring back a memory, make you smile or maybe
bring tears to your eyes. That's what you want to capture!
There are many new products on the market that do lend themselves to
simple scrapbooking. Digital scrapbooking is very hot now and there
are tons of digital scrapbook kits on the market if you are
"digitally savvy."
If you prefer a physical scrapbook you can hold in your lap there
are many kits and printable scrapbook supplies on the market. You
just print out what you want, adhere your pictures, journal the
story and you're done!
Don't let your memories dim and fade away. Capture them in a simple
scrapbook that will be cherished for generations to come.
